Made payment using wrong Card details

I have made a purchase for some items won on auction/ bid, but while paying I used details of an older card saved in ebay, which has already expired.

How can I resolve the payment, without having the order cancelled?

Have you gotten notice that the payment failed?  If so does it have instructions on how to pay?

Do you still have the same card account with the same number?  Sometimes if it's only the expiration date and the merchant is one where you have regularly used that card it might still go through.  What does it say in the Order Details (right column) of your Purchase History about the payment?  Does the charge show up on the card's website?
