I’m not a regular seller on eBay but I have sold in the past so things might have changed. I currently have 60 listings and less than 10% of them have any views and if they do they only have 1 view. Why hasn’t eBay come up with a way to have our listings get more views? I even tried their stupid “promoting” option and I got one view in one month. So instead of eBay trying to figure out a way of taking more money from its users and not providing anything in return (this site looks the same as it did when it came out in the late 90s) maybe they can figure out a way to have our listings being viewed by more people. Isn’t that the whole point? To get our stuff sold we can all make money? eBay should create a “listing viewer” that is like a running scroll of the main picture from every listing in a categorized way. As it is now the user has to search for a specific item. For example Maybe I’m looking for vintage clothes. Have a vintage clothes viewer that either shows one pic at a time and one can set the speed of viewing. even though you can type it in the search menu the way eBay displays the results doesn’t help all. If it did everything would be having at least having hundreds of views. As it is now it doesn’t work because none of my listing are getting views.

Hi @dlux26
There are 1.7 billion active items on eBay at any given time and they are ever-changing. No buyer would sit for hours and hours and wait to see a viewer display everything in the category of items he is interested in. Search is the only practical method of finding with a buyer wants to see. Even then, the number of items to look at can be astronomical.
You could help yourself by addressing some of your titles to make them more precise.
Your descriptions are very sparse. Add dimensions colors, patterns, and anything else the buyer might want to know about the item. Make use of item specifics. You have so much competition on eBay, you have to find ways to stand out.
Here are tips from eBay:
Hope that helps!

Thank you for your reply. I was just trying to come up with some ideas because I’ve been using EBay since 1999 and the website still looks the same so I figured nothing has been done to improve the site. I didn’t realize I get a billion items are for sale. 😆 so if I actually make a sale I should consider it a huge milestone. Lol I’m going to take your suggestions and see what happens!

Closer to two billion than one billion... 😊 And as an example, there are over 1,700 listings for Royal Albert Old Country Roses Cup & Saucer. Without "cup & saucer" in your title, it would very much be a miracle if someone found yours. Take a look to see what other sellers are doing right (and doing wrong) to help give you ideas on how to improve your listings.
I've been on eBay for 20 years and am on the site for many hours every single day, and to me the site is so different now, it's almost unrecognizable (not so much in the way it "looks" at first glance) but with all the new features, options, policy changes, payment processing, listing & shipping tools, etc.
A big change from 20 years ago is Best Match search. Since that is the default search method, it's important to optimize your listings for Best Match.
Good luck to you, and keep at it!
