There is a seller that sold me a laptop with some very powerful and dangerous packet sniffing and rerouting software that is often used to interupt ALL sinal traffic before it can be seen or interupted by security software.
It can be used to capture WIFI passwords, steal keys, private info, forward all traffic to another address invisibly .... basically it can interrupt your traffic even before it is encrypted and covertly send that to a listening computer elsewhere. INCREDIBLY DANGREOUS STUFF!
I tricked the seller into admitting some details about the setups: they sell identical laptops, so I got them to admit that they installed everything from a standard image with everything the same. When I asked them to verify the product keys they said they were built into the image they used. When i told them I had busted them and found suspicious software, they said they performed a scan and found nothing. (which is a lie because why would you scan a supposedly clean intsall?) When I told them i had in fact found the packet sniffing/forwarding software when I submitted the Ebay report, they threw Ebay some lies about how they used a diagnostic software that they forgot to remove and it was nothing interesting. What they don't know is i have captured the invisible user they created, the REGISTRY alterations, the log file of the forwarding setting of the app, the dates and times of installation etc ... they are very busted, and it is obvious that they DO in fact use a standard image with this all installed and setup.
They were selling about 15 identical laptops with this happening, i submitted my reporyt to Ebay with pictures of the settings and applications and their statement about them all having the same installation ... Ebay refunded me aftrer returning the laptop, and I left very clear, precise, accurate and non-toxic feedback with pictures so that no one bought them until Ebay could do something about it. That feedback only stayed up for afew days, then Ebay took it down, and npow they are selling the exact same latop i returned with plenty more. So Ebay is basically aiding and abetting a cyber criminal when there is proof of the activity.
This person is seriously going to harm others with very obvious and overt cyber crime, and Ebay is bascially just acting upon them removing feedback since there was a refund given ...
that policy is asinine as is, but in this case, people are seriously going to be hurt by this!!
What the heck can I do???
