I recently purchased A pair of shoes from outside the U.S.
The shoes were shipped FedEx to another address o my street.
The seller put the wrong address. I have the FedEx Ex delivery Pic and proof of incorrect address on package. Ebay declined my refund and sided with the seller.
Luckily the house that received the shoes returned the package to FedEx. I was able to track it down and take possession of the shoes in the end.
If the random guy that received the shoes would of kept them I would of been out $300 and no shoes. I'm considering limiting my purchases to under $100 due to this experience. I've been A active Ebay user since 2014/15 but this purchase has me concerned I'm not safe if the seller gets the address wrong , I'm out of luck. Does this sound correct?

When you go to your Purchase history, locate the shoes, and click on Order Details, is the SHIP TO address displayed correct? That is the address the seller should have used to ship the shoes.

Good advice for dealing with false tracking:
What kind of feedback does your seller have?
You can avoid many fake tracking issues by choosing to only do business with experienced sellers that have a proven track record of delivering similar items as seen by examining the seller's feedback page, and by avoiding inexperienced sellers, sellers with patterns of negative feedback indicating serious problems, or sellers with large gaps in the selling history or recent drastic changes of seller behavior.

The address displayed is correct. I've used this same account and address since 2014. I've not had any issues with purchases. I thought I would be refunded if A seller sends an item to A wrong address.

That's good advice. In the past I would read feedback before making A purchase. Recently, I look at the rating and briefly scroll their feedback.

If the seller provides tracking that appears to show delivery in your area -- which is all that eBay can see from that information -- then you will have to prove to eBay that it was not delivered to your address by providing some sort of documentation or something that contradicts the tracking.
