I recently purchased an item on ebay. The seller had a great review and I paid for the item. A week later, I noticed it had not shipped. I reached out to the seller a couple of times but did not hear back so I opened a dispute with ebay. They said they would reach out to the seller and they would have until March 6th to respond back. I just got an email from a relative of the seller, stating the seller has passed away. I was afraid something had happened to the seller and am sorry to get this news. This is certainly a first in my years of using ebay!

It happens. Family members have no idea what to do with the account or even how to close it. I sure hope they reached out to eBay and figured out what to do. It is sad to see a seller's good name ruined by bad feedback because they are deceased.
You can always instruct them to post the information here and we can help them!

@tuffcookie3 You may have to wait until the 6th.. You can try contacting customer service on social media to see if a receiving a refund sooner is possible..
The seller doesn't need to respond for a refund to be issued.
The family member should contact customer service to get the account closed.

The seller’s other items are not showing so it appears they notified ebay. I will reach out to ebay when they open.
We want your journey here to be as great as can be, so we have put together some links to help you get quickly familiarized with the eBay Community.
