Item never arrived and case closed. Is there any hope?

Hi,  This is my first time using Ebay and I didn't notice my item didn't arrive until after the return window and the case closed. Ebay is saying I can get a refund only if I get my bank involved. At this point it seems impossible to get my money back and I have no product.

If you waited to long to file for a refund with ebay you will have to file for one with the payment processor used to purchase the item.
