Item damaged and not correct

I purchased an item that is damaged but is also incorrect as listed. The seller has agreed upon sending me a replacement but wants me to close the return request first and not even send the damaged item back. Should I close the return request?

Hi @kos426 

That last thing you want to do is close an active return ... if you do the Seller will be under NO obligation to either refund you or send a replacement.  If you have an active return claim, then return the item to the Seller.  They will be given 2 days to refund you, if they don't then go back to the claim and ask eBay to step in for your refund.
