eBay has become so infuriating. From using ebay for many years I had accumulated about 150 positive feedback. When I moved back to South Africa from Europe I had to update my mobile phone number and address. I updated the phone number and then the system would do the 2 step verification process with an SMS. Problem was I would never receive the SMS. I contacted eBay several times, they admitted there was an error with their system. Over a few months the problem persisted and I could not access my account.
I then setup a brand new account, with zero positive feedback. I now have 7 positive feedback and want to sell an item. eBay wants to do a verification check through SMS or call. If I select "call me" the page says "Something isn't right. Please double-check the info on this page." The country code is from a drop down menu, cannot be wrong. my cell phone number is correct. I've tried different browsers, cleared cache etc, and this never works. If I try the SMS option, I get the same error. If I do it from my phone, the "call me' option produces the same error, but the SMS option does not. It counts down the time to request a new SMS, but no SMS is ever received. There are no numbers blocked on my phone. There are no restrictions on my phone. I receive SMSs all the time, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with my network or sending and receiving SMSs.
How can I verify my account if ebay's system is faulty and wont send SMSs or Call-Me?
