Oh, this is a mess. Now I realize what happened with ebay and my "lost item". I ordered a ski hat from a seller and never received my item. I had purchased several things over the past little bit and was leaving feedback. I accidentally left positive feedback for the wrong item/seller saying "delivery was lightning fast". It's a common positive comment I leave. Well, now no hat, and because of my error, I have no recourse. I tried reaching out after I filed the appeal and realized the error, but can't find a way to amend my "appeal" to include this important information. Does anyone have any idea what I can do at this point, or should I just look for another hat to buy - uuuugggghhhhhh. Thanks, Renee

Feedback has no bearing on a not received claim.
You have up to 30 days after the expected delivery to open a claim. Go to your purchase history - select 'I haven't received it' and follow the prompts.
The seller has 3 business days to provide tracking that shows delivery, or a refund. If he doesn't, go to your case and click 'ask us to step in'.
If it is too late to open a claim through eBay, and you paid through a paypal account, you can open a not received dispute there.
If you paid directly with a credit card, call you card issuer - ask them to open a not received dispute for you.

Thank you for the fast response. Yes, I had opened a claim promptly after checking with our mailman, the neighbors and leasing office. What I didn't realize I had done, was left a "standard ebay feedback response" in error to the seller of the hat. I understand ebay now denying my claim, but it was a simple error. We were power sellers for years under another name (donateauction) and have been buying for many many years so I guess I thought they would have given us the benefit of the doubt before denying our claim. The amount was less than $30 and just a winter hat haha. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to get back with me. I'm guessing my errant feedback means I am on the hunt to buy the same hat again. Good Grief. Old age is so annoying this morning lol. Take care, Renee

If eBay denied the claim, it was based on tracking showing delivery, not on the feedback that you left. Feedback is never considered in a not received claim.
If there is tracking showing delivery, then you have to work with the carrier to locate your package. If sent usps, go to your PO with the tracking # and ask the clerk to look up the delivery. The scanners have gps, so they can see exactly where the package was delivered. If mis-delivered, the carrier should try to retrieve the package.

Thanks again for trying to help guide me. Since we used to be power sellers (many years ago), I knew to follow up with all possible avenues, such as our local postmen, our residents through a private intranet message to other tenants about the "lost package", my direct neighbors and our leasing office. It's like the package disappeared into thin air - and has me a bit frustrated as all other packages from ebay, amazon, etc., were received. I thought perhaps the reason they denied me was because of my cut/paste job trying to finish feedback - it's one of my standard replies (lightning fast shipping, buy with confidence, quality items, type response). Anyway, you have been so kind and helpful, I truly hope you have a lovely day. See, we used to live in CO - I need a good winter hat for here too lol.

If tracking shows delivered, that is why your refund was denied. It has nothing to do with the feedback.
If tracking does not show delivery, then call your credit card company and ask them to open a not received claim.
No one is going to reimburse you if tracking says delivered. I'd watch for that hat on one of your neighbors 🙂

Yes, I gave up and have ordered another hat - not through ebay. I understand from the sellers perspective that it was reported received and it no doubt was by someone somewhere lol, just not the person who spent the money on the item/shipping. I think I mentioned years back we were power sellers and understand from a sellers point of view that it was reported as received in the mail room, and believe me, my husband and I sure will be talking to any neighbors wearing a colorado logo ski hat haha. Thanks again for trying to help. I think tracking says my new hat should arrive tomorrow. I'm so grateful as we just had a winter storm here in the NE and boy could I have used it. Take care, Renee
