I had purchased an item on eBay and it did not work on my vehicle. As it was listed on the drop-down list, when I was doing the return, I chose the wrong return reason. Now, the shipping label is $178 that it was sent to me to return it, it is almost the full price that I paid for the 11-pound item ($238.20). The seller is saying how he going to contact the manufacturer to see if he can get the right part for me. My concern with that the time before he gets back to me, my return date will be up. If anyone have an idea on how I return this item at the normal shipping rate or have a second chance to re open another return case. If I cancel my open return request, then I won't be able to return the item.

Yeah, if you cancel the request, you will not be able to re-open it, that is correct.
I don't have a best option. You could try waiting till the last day to see if the seller comes through with the part? But that shipping cost is pretty horrendous. Maybe you can try finding an alternate shipping method to help lower that cost? Is the seller willing to help on the shipping cost? (or have you asked?)

@hilarioauto You should be able to choose to use your own return shipping label and upload the tracking number into the request. You can buy a shipping label on Pirateship.com for USPS or UPS. Their prices are less than the retail rate you'd pay at the post office or UPS store.
Adding the tracking number to the request is VERY important.
You will need to contact customer service if you are not able to add the new tracking number yourself.
