How to remove a single negative feedback years old (my only one)

I have only one negative feedback and it >5 years old. I have 500+ positive feedback, but this is the first one that appears when I list an item to sell - it looks like an ugly stain.  How can I remove this? I had customer service call me, I thought they would fix it, but days later it still remains - try again, different agent with better knowledge?

eBay will not remove the feedback for you. Feedback can only be removed within 30 days if it qualifies as a violation. The best you can do is earn some positive feedback as a seller to move that negative down the list.

That may be easier to do if you list some inexpensive items first before (or in addition to) trying to sell the camera.

For the future if you receive negative feedback, it's always a good idea to reply to it in a professional, customer-service oriented way to show others that you take care of problems. When you resolve the problem for the buyer, the buyer may agree to revise the feedback to a positive. But this too all must take place within 30 days, so there isn't anything that can be done about this feedback that is over a year old.
