How to find out if a name is taken!

My sister wants to start a eBay account and check if names are taken before she signs up. Because at this point there are so many names out there it would be nice to know if the name she has chosen will work is there anyway to do that? Thanks for the help.

If the feedback page loads with information showing, the username is taken.
