Hi, I own a nearly identical vintage musical instrument to one now selling on eBay, and I would like to chat with the seller (after he/she sells his/her instrument) about how he/she maintained or restored the instrument. I don't want to buy it, and do not want to interfere with or influence in any way the sale. I'm just seeking info about my instrument to help me restore it.
The seller and I live in the same general area, and we even bought our instruments at the same store, so I hope the person might be willing to spend a few minutes to share some info with me.
How can I contact the seller under eBay's policies?
Thank you.

Go to the listing and call it up on your screen. Look to your right. Just below where the seller name appears and their feedback. Just below that a little bit is "Contact Seller".

I understood that "Contact Seller" was only for questions/comments directly related to he seller's sale or auction. I'm seeking info not directly related to his sale, just to find out about restoring the type of item he has. I have one already.

Hi @wordswork
You can either use the 'Contact seller' link in the listing ... OR the 'Contact member' link in the seller's feedback profile. [Using the link in the listing will make it easier for the seller to know which item you're talking about. There's no rules against using it for the reason you want.]

Nope. It is for contact seller period. You got a question, need an answer from that seller or you need to tell the seller something, click on the Contact Seller link. There is NO restrictions on what you can ask or talk about.

Thank you all for clarifying this for me.
