Books can be shipped USPS media mail if they are listed in the "books" category. Magazines and comic books do not qualify as media mail because they contain advertising. I typically use the second method shown below to protect books that I ship in a box (or if I use a waterproof bubble mailer). Whatever packaging you use, don't allow the book to move around inside the package, as it is more likely to be damaged.
