It would be better to list a couch as ‘Local Pickup Only’ … and let the buyer handle the transport.

The advice given in the previous reply is the best way to go. Just so you know, ebay does not ship anything you sell, you are responsible for setting up shipping methods and costs. In the case of a large item you have two choices Local pickup only, or you can list it as Freight, where the buyer has to arrange for pick up from your location and have it shipped to them. The first option is the better one.
The link below tells you how to list an item with local pickup.

Because you are a new seller if you list other items with a shipping cost, you will have a hold placed on your first few payments, until you prove yourself to be a reliable seller. Open the link below to get more info about the hold.

For future listings you may make, you need to know that YOU are responsible for shipping, not eBay. When you create a listing, you key in the weight of the packaged item plus the dimensions. You then choose the type of shipping, making sure it is the proper shipping allowed. For example, media mail is only for books and cannot be used for other items. When the buyer purchases the item, the amount of shipping is determined by your measurements plus the distance provided by the buyer.
Unless you are familiar with freight shipping, list as local pick-up only. This is a large and heavy item and freight shipping is very expensive. Either you pay shipping (free shipping) or the buyer does; eBay does not pay for shipping.
