How do I override the zip code on my shipping address???

I just moved into this home and was told that the address of the home I bought was not tied into the Post Office. The mailing address would need to be assigned by the Post Office. So I went and obtained a mailing address which consists of a box number on a Rural Route.  That "Box" sits outside my home and looks like an everyday mailbox. Since we are on the border of 2 cities the post office assigned their proffered city, and used the zip code which has always been assigned to the area.

In November I went and added this address into the ebay system, and bought something unimportant so that I could test the mailing address out. It worked... I received the package, all was good... or so I thought.

I went onto ebay again and bought something... and noticed the city and zip code had been changed. I went back to the ebay address page and tried to change it... over and over, and each time it would accept it, onl to change it back to the incorrect zip code again. So I called Customer Service at ebay. They did a search on the USPS site and found out that there were indeed problems with the USPS site, and I would have to contact the USPS to find out if they could fix the problem.  They also said I should contact the sellers of transactions and tell them to change the zip code manually. That's crazy! Needless to say I've had lots of cancelled transactions.

If anyone has any ideas of who I should contact at the USPS to fix my zip code that would be great. The people at the post office tell me it's above their pay grade to fix a problem like that.

I don't know how to get USPS to fix this, sorry.

When you make a purchase, there is an option to change the Ship To: address. Have you tried making the change there to see if it works? Maybe with an inexpensive item as you did previously?
