How can this happen?

So I recently joined eBay and made my first purchase by mistake and instantly asked for a cancellation request. The next day I send a message to seller if he will please cancel. 2 days after that I ask them again to have an update if my item can be cancelled and no response. The next day I get a email saying my order cancellation was declined because the item has shipped! How can this happen? Who do I contact? This might be my first and last purchase on ebay unfortunately.

Buyers cannot cancel orders.  They can request cancellations, but sometimes sellers cannot cancel.  Some sellers have their items at warehouses and orders are processed immediately and cannot be cancelled.  Sellers must ship within their stated times and some sellers, like myself, ship same day.  You will have to wait until the item arrives and then request a return.
