I am looking for advice on the quickest way to reach Ebay support.
I just discovered a suspicious transaction, said to be "paid" with no information about what the item was and no information about the seller (clicking seller name suggests there should be 36 feedback but all are hidden). As a workaround, I reported the transaction as an "item not received" but that's not really the proper selection. (Maybe I missed it but I couldn't find a "report suspicious activity" link.
I hopped on the chat, where the automated assistant offered to connect me to a support call. However, when I reported "suspicious activity" as the reason for the call, I was directed back to the website, ebay.com/help. It's totally circular and I don't know what to do. (Number captured by phone is 866-540-3229. Is there a better number to call? Or an email that is monitored?)
Since I was unable to reach anyone, I attempted to remove payment information from my account. But when I click "delete", a pop-up says I need to add a new payment to remove an existing payment (even though there are no pending transactions and I'm not selling anything and even though I also have PayPal linked up). Obviously i don't want to add more payment details when I do not know if my account has been hacked! 😠
In my time zone, it is not yet 8 p.m. Am I correct based on this experience that Ebay has no support options outside regular business hours? (Can't find their support hours posted anywhere either. Ugh.)
Can someone here suggest a workaround since reporting a possible account breach is not something that should wait all that long?

To contact eBay, use the chat assistant to request a call back by starting on the Help & Contact page and following the links for your issue.
What options you see may depend on your particular issue and how busy that department is at the moment.
Try entering "agent" into the chat window. You may have to provide some context to reach the correct department. If you see a "Still need help?" or "More options" choice, either of those should lead to a call back option.
If nothing else works, try this link between 5am to 9:30pm Pacific Time:

If you are unable to get a call back, try contacting eBay via social media:
