How are charitable donations from sales invoiced and paid?

I am new to selling and donating a portion to charity.  How do the charitable donations get paid? Will I be billed for them? When do they get paid? Is it when you reach a certain amount or is there a time frame?

Thank you for the article on charitable donations but I still don't understand how the Paypal giving fund gets the funds for the donations since eBay put the money into my bank account. Will Paypal just automatically take the money out of my bank some day? Or will Paypal take the money from my preferred method of payment which is not my bank account? I'm sorry to sound so confused; there is probably a simple answer that I am just not seeing.
