Help with false accounts and bidding

Hello,

I have two MTH NS Heritage diesel engines that I have been trying to sell.  Each time I list them, a brand new account bids on them and then does not pay.  They are obviously fake accounts that keep on being created.  I have been in contact with eBay 4 times about this issue.  I can’t figure out why this is happening.  All of the other engines sell with no problems.  It’s the Wabash and S & A. 
I’ve been selling on eBay for 15 years and have never seen anything like this.

Have you turned on the option in account settings to require buyers to supply a payment method before bidding?    The option is at the bottom of this page>

Be aware that that setting is at present only part of a test for requiring pre-authorization of payment for auction bids.   Not all buyers are included in the test group and those that aren't can still bid and not pay.  While the one for offers is out of testing and supposedly universal for buyers, there are loopholes which scammers can exploit.  The only way to be sure that your item is not removed from inventory by a buyer making a promise to pay (which s/he might or might not keep) is to list it as fixed-price with no Best Offer and make the Buy It Now "Immediate Payment Required" (you have to use the "Business Tool" to get that option).
