Don't use the cart for that. Use your Watchlist. Every listing has a link, near the top, that says either "Add to Watchlist" or "Watch this item". I don't use the cart myself, but I've heard that it can be kind of difficult sometimes.
Go to your Purchase History and confirm your suspicion that you actually bought the item. Your post didn't say explicitly that you did purchase the item. Maybe you're worried for no reason.

PS ~ Going to google is a good way to find help with many things, but not to reach eBay. NEVER call a phone number you find on the internet that purports to take you to eBay Customer Service. The numbers you find will be, at best, payment for third-party services, or, at worst, scams to deceive and steal from you. eBay has no inbound phone lines to CS ... to speak with a rep, you have to request that they call you.
