Glitch in eBays system wont let me change buyers zip code

I have had a couple buyer this week ask to change their shipping address.
Based on the buyers feedback, I usually do this with no problem.

Now, when I go to change the address it will let me change street, city and state but the zip code is fixed.
When I enter the new street, city and state, I get a message bar that reads "zip code appears incorrect, we think it should be xxxxx" with a "change it for me" tab.
When I click "change it for me", it now appears with the new correct address on the right side of my shipping label screen.
But when I go to print the label I get an red error message on the top of the shipping label screen: "something went wrong and we are unable to print the label".

I have tried a couple different ways, both through the individual order, and bulk shipping. Both options have the same result.
I am using a desktop with Windows 11.

I know I can cancel the order and ask the buyer to repurchase, but I don't like to take money off the table and make it inconvenient for the buyer.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is there anyway to resolve this.

Glitch in eBays system wont let me change buyers zip code

Hi @civicwagonparts

One of the big scams on eBay that Sellers pursue is the False tracking number scam and along with eBay we are trying to come up with a good solution to this scam.  eBay may have a reason that they will not allow the zip code to be changed or it might just be a temporary glitch.

While you are willing to ship to a messaged address other Sellers are advised against that practice because they lose their Seller protection.  While you have experienced success the day may come when you get scammed doing what you are doing.

One work around is that you hand label the package and pay at the counter and then take the receipt from the carrier with the tracking number and manually add it to the sold transaction.  You will not get a discount doing this.

@civicwagonparts   I am one of the sellers that says it's EXTREMELY risky to ship to a different address, especially if the item is high value.

First thing you need to do is check to make sure it's the same buyer asking to change the address.

You need to be aware that shipping to an address other than the one on the checkout page will void your seller protection.   This means the buyer can get the item and file a not received refund request and eBay will require you to issue a refund.
