Someone asked for a gift card to return money. They took my money..

Anyone asking for a gift card is a scammer.  They like gift cards because they’re untraceable and there’s no way to get your money back.

When you need a payment refunded on eBay, the seller sends the refund through eBay, so that the cash amount is put back in your Gift Card that you already had linked to your eBay account.

Never give out your Gift Card numbers, that's all a scammer needs to spend the money in your gift card. That spending can not be stopped or tracked down. Sorry.
