Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on this. I live in Alaska and purchased something that I needed to be sent to a freight company in Washington in order for it to get shipped to Alaska. We don't have sales tax up here. However, I was taxed almost $300 because it's going to the freight company in Washington. Is there any way to get that refunded or get it disputed? Thanks in advance!
Sammy

No. The tax is charged based on the delivery address.
You should not have shipped to Washington.
Here is ebay policy...
Tip
Even if you live in a state that does not impose a sales tax, you may still see tax calculated on your order if it is shipped to a state that does impose a tax. Similarly, sales tax may still be applicable if you live outside of the United States.

I had no choice. I cannot ship a lot of big items to Alaska. I have to use a freight company. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question! Hope you have a good evening.

If you must use a freight forwarding company, you may be able to find one in another state that does not charge sales tax for next time.
I believe the following states do not have state sales taxes -- but you may want to verify that they do not charge local taxes, or have other charges for items forwarded to another state:
Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon.
