I'm new to selling on eBay. I set up a bank account for the transactions, but when I supposedly sold an item i was asked to put in a card (debit) and to tell them my exact amount in the account to "verify" the account. Does that sound correct? It didn't sound right to me. I appreciate the assistance.

That was a SCAM.
You don't need to put in a card and tell them amount in your bank account.
If the buyer has paid, you will see it on your eBay account. Ignore suspicious emails.

Thank you for the information. I thought that was odd, however, since this is my first attempt to sell, I wasn't sure. Thank you again for your help.

Is there a way to report these scams?

If it came by eBay message
Report each alarming message using the 3 dots in the upper right of the messaging
You can add the buyer to your blocked bidder list to prevent future purchases.
To Block that buyer from your account, add the user name here:
https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock
You can prevent future messages from a blocked member by selecting
"Don't allow blocked buyers to contact me" in Buyer Rules
Then scroll to the bottom and Save changes
