Getting Help from eBay

How can I force eBay to look into an issue with a sale? My problem isn;t addressed by the given options. It is this: I listed an item for $24.95 amd it sold, but the buyer maintained he had been given a lower price (say $18.71 or thereabouts). I gave him the benefit of doubt because I had used eBy's mass discount option and perhaps that item was being offered at the lower price. But I wass still being shown (and debited for) the original full price. The sale was complicated by the buyer wanting combine=d shipping, and when I sent him the refund for the savings on combined shipping and the reduction in asking price I got a message that the refund was being processed. A week later the buyer complained he had not received a refund, and I am sure he is going to leave me a very bad review for things I had no control over. Worse, eBay stays hidden and silent about it all and I feel Iam the patsy for a software glitch, at best. Thanks for hearing me out and any thoughts you can give.

Getting Help from eBay

Hi @gandjrarities47

If you did indeed refund, both you and the buyer received a message from eBay to confirm it (you can also see it by taking a look at the order transaction details).

Depending on his financial institution, that refund might be posted to his account anywhere from a few days up to a month after the refund. That is out of your control.

Thanks. But now the buyer is saying I need to send him the refund out of my PayPal accoount. PayPal has nothing to do with eBay. Has eBay changed its policy about issuing refunds, or is my buyer trying to work a scam? TIA

I don't know if the buyer is a scammer or just ill-informed, but you process the refund by using the Send refund option in the dropdown next to the transaction in your Orders list...which it sounds like you already did since you received confirmation

Reply to the buyer to let him know that the refund has already been processed and that he has been sent a confirmation of that from eBay. Tell him that depending on his financial institution, that refund might be posted to his account in anywhere from a few days up to a month after the refund. How long they take to post the refund is out of your control.

eBay doesn't hide from you. There is a contact link on every help page as well as elsewhere in various places throughout the site. The easier way to contact eBay is to use this link to ask for a callback from an agent:
