Getting Ebay to Step In on Reported Seller

I received the wrong items. I let the seller know thinking it was a simple mistake. I got an email from seller on 9/9 saying seller had been hospitalized, autistic son filled in and made some mistakes and it would be corrected. Nothing happened, but I saw seller was listing new items so thought seller must be recovered and messaged again about the mistake. Seller responded on 9/22 and said package would go out the next day. Since then, haven't heard anything more and haven't received correct items. I'm afraid seller strung me along until 30 days passed and now is ignoring my issue

I reported this to Ebay more than two weeks ago. Received an email after 3 days saying, 3 days have passed have you hear from seller or do you need us to step in. I had not heard back, so selected the Ebay step in button. When I fill in the form (on my cell or on a laptop), I receive a message back saying "oops, there is a technical issue" and "try again later". Well, I've tried again later many times and always get this same message.

I've looked around the help and contact pages extensively and cannot find another place to report any of this back to eBay to get them to step in at this point. If I start another report a seller, it tells me I already have an open report on this item.

When I called eBay, the customer service representative said it was too early for eBay to step in, had to wait 5 days after the report and they couldn't do anything else, in spite of the email sent to me asking if I wanted them to step in since three days had passed.

Email from eBay also said this report would be closed on 11/16 if I don't reply.

Am at a loss at this point ... literally and figuratively.

Do I just have to go through another call in and be told again it's too soon or get some other excuse?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts on how to proceed.

Getting Ebay to Step In on Reported Seller

Has it been 5 business days or more since you opened the case? If so, then contact eBay again.

At the link below, you can request a call back from eBay by clicking Have us call you on the left side of the page. If you don't see that option, click Chat with our automated assistant. Then type "agent" at the bottom in the chat box. You'll see an option to request a call back there.
