I have a buyer whose item arrived damaged in shipping and I use the eBay shipping labels for USPS ground advantage. The instructions in eBay help topics direct me to go to "shipping labels" and then "create a claim" under the more actions tab. There is no "create a claim" tab anywhere. This item should be covered under ship cover for usps ground advantage, correct?

@chesterfield8 USPS ground advantage comes with $100 insurance is filed through the USPS site unless you chose to purchase Shipcover insurance because the item was more expensive.
Contact your buyer and ask for pictures of the item, the packing material and the box. Ask the buyer to hold on to all items as the postal carrier may wish to see everything before they decide your insurance claim. Insurance claims are not paid for damage in shipping if the seller didn't package the item well enough.
Then you refund the buyer as soon as you have your pictures. The buyer doesn't wait for the insurance payout if any. Insurance is for the SELLER the buyer is covered by the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
eBay shipping labels come with $100 insurance except for media mail.

Thank you for your response. I followed those instructions on the eBay site. From those instructions, I should be covered by "ship cover" correct? I use the eBay labels for usps ground advantage. According to those instructions I should be able to file the claim by selecting the shipping labels tab and then "create a claim" tab under more actions, but there is no such tab "create a claim". Is this correct?

@chesterfield8 Shipcover is an OPTIONAL insurance that you pay for if you wish to use it. You pay for it when you print the shipping label. It isa Third Party insurance company . It doesn't sound like you paid for Shipcover since the option is not there to file a claim with them.
Otherwise you just have the Ground Advantage $100 insurance and you file with USPS. >>>>

Thank you very much for your direction. I misread the sentence regarding Ship cover as I thought it was automatic for up to $100 with the eBay label and if you wanted more coverage that is when you would pay for it. I see now that it says, eBay "offers" it meaning you have to take them up on that. Thanks for the clarification and directing me to USPS claims.
