FYI-Post office scales possibly adding extra 2 - 4 ounces on packages

I thought it was a mistake on my part,  but I noticed that items I had weighed on a scale (twice) and purchased prepaid Shipping labels, the weight was different on my receipt from post office, after they took possession of the package.  I monitored this over the last 10 packages and for each one, the Post office scales added an extra 2 to 4 ounces on each and every item.  Note, the scale I use at home is an exact shipping scale, and I even add an extra ounce just in case.  This is bad if the Post Office is doing this on purpose.  Make sure to check your shipping packages (original shipping label weight vs the Post office receipt)  especially after the Post Office scans and takes possession of the package.  We certainly don't want an overcharge fee if it is due to faulty Post Office scales.  Interesting to note, the packages I weigh and ship using UPS, the weight comes out matching my prepaid shipping label.  So something is amiss at Post Office scales.

@maryk2510   On your Postal Receipt there is a survey at the bottom, use that to report the inaccuracy of the scales compared to your weights.  I suspect it is a local issue and they either have something leaning on the scale platform or need to have it zeroed or serviced.

I had one package doublechecked today and their scale was spot on ...

Thank you so much.  I've submitted the Post Office survey and suggested they troubleshoot their scales.
