Ebay thinks I'm someone else when logging in from different devices.

I use multiple devices to log in to eBay, depending on where I am. I usually log in from my desktop but if I'm away from home, I might use my smartphone, a tablet, or a laptop. Also, I use a VPN service which of course hides my IP location. 

It's not only eBay I'm having problems with but also with other websites that involve financial transactions.

I just wish there was a simpler way to authenticate my identity instead of jumping through hoops to log in.

Any suggestions?

Certain VPNs (or certain VPN configurations) are known to cause such issues.

Financial institutions and businesses do not like it when users obscure their locations in particular ways.
