Ebay randomly/repeatedly sent me security codes

I got 3 texts from ebay with security codes, back to back to back. Did not request or do anything to initiate,  why?

Someone else may have tried to enter their own ph# but had a typo w your # instead.

Or, outside chance they could be trying to access your account (?)

You can ask eBay if you have concerns -

Click on "Contact us"
In the Help Chatbot that opens type AGENT in the reply box then press Send to bypass the bots
You should get the options to Chat with agent, or have them call you.

Possibly someone with a very similar username entered your username by mistake when trying to sign in. When that user's password did not work, the user requested a code to try to sign in -- which would go to your email, since it was your account the user was inadvertently trying to sign into.

Most likely the user figured out that there was a typo in the username at some point and stopped making those requests.
