Alright, I know most people don't have the time to read massive multi paragraph posts so I will try to keep this as simple as possible. I am hoping some fellow sellers have gone through this and can put me in the right direction, or even pass on some real ebay contacts via DM. First, this has nothing to do with our current account (what I am posting on) which is more than 25 years old and has sold millions on ebay, you would think that alone would get us some sort of person at ebay to talk to (not the endless, mostly useless, outsourced phone support).
So the problem, We had a former employee steal over $100,000 in high end computer hardware. This employee sold atleast $30,000 on ebay, that account was all of our items. easy to back up with matching invoices with serials, etc. So Ebays only course of action is to go to law enforcement. That was a long process and finally the account was suspended, then terminated, hiding all the activity. Even direct item links no longer work (thankfully most were screenshot). After months the detective passed the info on to the DA for prosecution which we have been informed will take months before charges are filed and could be years before it goes to trial. I have to hope our justice system will bring some sort of closure there, but this brings me back to this post. The detective more or less said that eBay will not likely help us recover items or money. I don't understand how that can be it? Why wouldn't ebay attempt to recover the tens of thousands of clearly stolen goods? They profited from it, payment processed via ebay, etc. They have all the contacts of the people that received these stolen goods. Isn't possession of stolen property illegal (once notified)? We know ebay would never give us the contact info of the buyers, so shouldn't ebay atleast attempt recovery / pass it on to us? Is there something I am missing here / a process missed?
I will leave it at that and thank you for any help, I am sure you could understand the frustration we are feeling over this.

I guess this is a unique situation as there wasn't any feedback. Though I do see this forum moves really fast.
