Ebay is again charging sales tax on coins and bullion. These items are tax exempt in Arkansas.

Ebay stopped charging sales tax for the sale of coins, bullion and currency in October 2021.  They are now collecting for sale of coins for sure and probably for bullion.  Spent an hour with customer service Monday and was assured this problem would be addressed.  So far I've been charged tax for another coin and have not received any kind of refund.

Make sure the coins were listed in the "coins & paper money" category. Some states will tax coins that are modified with bezels, slabs, or toning.  The most common reason coins are erroneously taxed is because they are listed in the wrong category.  If erroneously listed, you'll have to ask eBay to refund the tax.

Your sellers have to be sure to put the items in the correct category.  Ebay evaluates taxable items by category.  So when you noticed they stopped, your sellers were likely posting in the correct category and now you ran across one again that isn't.  Good Luck!

Category is the same as being used for the past 2 years from one seller.  Contacting Ebay seems to be a waste of time.

It is your only option if you want attention to the matter.
