What has happened here on ebay? It is very difficult to track your itemized statement as it is no longer in one place. I recently sold an item for $14.99. Actual shipping was $8.34. Buyer paid $25.49 in total for this sale. Buyer paid $8.80 for shipping, so only a difference of 54 cents. So, why am I charged $3.20 in ebay fees for this sale? Why are their ebay fees on the item sale (about 12.5%) plus fees on the shipping and fees on the sales tax, which ebay collects. ??????

It is not financially profitable to sell your items on ebay any longer at this rate.

It is also risky to ship an item sold to the buyer before ebay pays you for the item. How can we sellers be 100% responsible for the postal service delivery and if the buyer wants to return for any reason, we won't even be paid for the item shipped and hope that the item comes back to you in the same condition you originally sent it out in.

Ebay used to be the hottest site on the internet and we sellers and ebay did great. Now, it is more of a hassel, less profit, and honestly, unfair to the good sellers.

After selling on ebay for over 20 years, the changes they have made are not for the best to both buyer and seller.

Any other sites that treat their sellers more fairly?

eBay charges their fees on the total sales...just like every other payment processor. The combined fee (for Final Value fee + payment processing fee) is a little less than it was when you paid eBay and PayPal separately, so the fee is equivalent.

eBay instructs you to ship when the buyer pays...just like they always have. The way you receive your payments is different from when PayPal processed payments, but you should ship as quickly as possible once the buyer pays.

Nothing has changed about postal service delays, refunds for returns, etc. and has nothing to do with Managed Payments.

Other sites work about the same, but payouts take even longer on some of them and the fees are higher.
