Ebay didn't have my back with a fraudulent seller

I have been an Ebay buyer and seller for 22 yrs. In January, I ordered a much needed blower for our wood burner. I did this on 1/21/25. On 1/30/25 I received an email stating that the 14.2 lb. blower was delivered in my mailbox. Impossible. When I logged on to see where they delivered it there wasn't even a tracking number for this large item.  Tracking became available on 2/3/25. I had contacted the seller just before the tracking number was added. You guessed- it was a fraudulent tracking number. The Post Master typed a letter proving that not only was the tracking number fraudulent, but was in fact a 7.9 ounce item delivered somewhere else. I opened a claim with Ebay, sent my proof, and they closed my case. Once they saw "delivered" it was immediately closed. Went to Paypal opened a claim. They were even faster in closing it- I am talking 3 minutes. I am closing my accounts with both Ebay and Paypal because their policies suck and they don't listen, can't read and are basically all about promoting overseas sales then have no idea how to respond or give their money back guarantee. They seem to care more about how sellers can remove bad feedback then to look at these fraudulent businesses and keep their bread and butter buyers. NO MORE.

If you can obtain hard copy documentation of that the tracking does not correspond to a delivery to your address, contact eBay via social media and explain that you have a case of "false tracking" and you should be given the opportunity to provide your documentation to eBay via direct message. This is different than the usual "item not received" case which is handled automatically and which allows the seller to win by providing tracking that shows delivery.

You can avoid many issues entirely by choosing to only do business with experienced sellers that have a proven track record of delivering similar items as seen by examining the seller's feedback page, and by avoiding inexperienced sellers, sellers with patterns of negative feedback indicating serious problems, or sellers with large gaps in the selling history or recent drastic changes of seller behavior.
