Ebay Collection of sales tax.

Exactly what proof do we have that ebay actually submits the sales taxes that they collect to the appropriate tax authorities?  Do the seller and the buyer get a written confirmation that the collected tax was actually submitted?  Honestly, I do NOT trust ebay to do the ethical thing.
