Don’t want selling from a web browser

I went on vaca for less than a week and now when I try to list from my phone it is making me sell from a web browser?!? It’s twice the work and not what I am used to or want. Why did this start? And how can I avoid it???

Don’t want selling from a web browser

Hi @rusticchampions

It sounds like your eBay app might have logged you out, updated, or switched to the mobile web version instead of staying inside the app.

Here’s why this can happen:

  • Sometimes after an app update or inactivity (like being on vacation), the app session expires.

  • If the app thinks something looks unusual (new location, long inactivity), it can push you to the web browser for security reasons.

  • Some eBay app glitches also randomly force users into the browser version instead of keeping them in the app.

How to fix it:

  1. Make sure you are opening and listing directly from the eBay app (not through a web link or email).

  2. Update the eBay app to the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.

  3. Clear the app cache (you can do this in your phone settings) and restart the app.

  4. Uninstall and reinstall the eBay app if it keeps forcing you to the browser.

Tip:
Always open the eBay app manually from your home screen, not from a link, to avoid getting pushed to the browser.

Please let me know if it helps!
