Does e-bay always have 12 numbers for tracking payments ?

Trying to find out about order number from e-bay are 12 or 8 trying not to get scamed.   Does anyone know about order numbers from e-bay ?

I looked at the order numbers for items I have sold, and they are all in a format of digits   2-5-5    2 digits - 5 digits - 5 digits

Mentors cannot do anything with order numbers, but we can help if we have the item number, which consists of 12 digits.

If you found an item on another site and they sent you an invoice, it's an old scam.

Do you get to try the item for 5 days and pay with gift cards?
