Does ANYBODY including eBay really know how the UPS damage claims process works????

Purchased insured UPS Ground shipping through eBay. Item arrived damaged. I (shipper) filed damage claim through eBay/UPS - emailed per eBay "guidelines".

Promptly received email response that claim approved. Faxed back bar coded approval letter with other documentation requested the same day. Fax was "successful".

Waited almost a month, then called eBay who connected me with UPS "customer service". UPS said "local facility will contact me regarding claim payment" which of course they did NOT do. I contacted local facility - they basically laughed at me.

Appears I will pay dearly for the damaged item in return for the few cents I saved using eBay shipping!

Is this just another poorly thought out and poorly initiated eBay process that nobody knows anything about??

For UPS, use your own free account.  Link it to PayPal to get discounts close to ebay's and ship from the UPS website without the hassle.

Or for the lowest UPS costs open a free Pirate Ship account.  Equal or lower costs than ebay or stamps.com, and no monthly fee.  You do use their account, but no hassles like having ebay in the middle.  Plus they answer email and quickly resolve problems.
