Google account 'Phishing' scam pops up all the time in Firefox.
I don't have a Google account and don't use Chrome.

This even happens when I switch pages after logging into Ebay

If what you are seeing is a phishing scam, scan your device for malware.

If what you are seeing is an actual Google sign in, that can be triggered by using a feature that requires you to be signed in to a Google account or that requires you to be signed in to an account that has an option to be signed in via Google, regardless of which browser you use.

Some of the posts in the thread you link are referring to seeing an eBay sign in page that includes an option to sign in via a social media account, one of which is Google.
