We have a very generic "freight" shipping policy we apply to any listing that isn't going UPS and generally someone buys it, we get a notification and a "send invoice" option where we enter the freight cost and send it and they pay and we ship. Been like that for years and years. I had a guy today trying to buy a bumper that sent me a screenshot of an error that would not let him check out because freight cost wasn't specified. I was able to recreate it on a separate account. I was also able to take another freight shipping item that has the exact same shipping policy applied to it and it would let me check out and had a button for "request ship cost" or something to that effect in the checkout screen. These are both auto parts, one an engine one a bumper but otherwise pretty well the same listings.
Are parts in different categories handled differently for checkout?
We've sold a loooot of freight stuff over the years and I've never had anyone tell me they couldn't check out.
