E-bay ruled in my favor and I was not at fault in a package not received. The buyer left a negative feedback that I did nothing about the refund or look for the package. I did everything e-bay told me to do for a not at fault refund. I filed with the USPS lost package and a service report. I informed the seller every step I was taking to get her refunded per e-bay seller resolution. I opened a case for removal feedback. E-bay refund the buyer and it was ruled "not at fault" the package was lost by USPS.
E-bay policy: We always want your seller performance ratings and feedback to properly reflect the service you provide to your buyers, and will adjust these in situations where we find that you were not at fault. You can also request a manual adjustment that illustrates that you weren't at fault when something went wrong. I was denied the removal of buyers negative feedback because she didn't threaten me by resolution center. E-bay policy says adjust feedback for a "not at fault"
The negitive feedback affects my ratings metrics as a seller. I felt e-bay did nothing to protect my seller reputation. The I read E-bay doesn't protect sellers unless you join the top seller catogory. What a crock !!

You didn't read that on eBay.
If tracking showed the item was NOT delivered, you should have refunded whether the buyer opened a case or not. Pursuing an insurance claim is a separate action. Then eBay would have removed the feedback.

I called e-bay and was told to have buyer to report package not received and then file a service report with USPS and wait for answer incase they find the package and don't refund till I hear back and the answer is visible to e-bay. My funds were put on hold right away. I thought odd but did as told since this was the first time this had happen. My funds are on hold and refund the buyer? The rep even gave me the USPS number to call for the service report filing. I usually refund but it was a 50.00 dollar bracelet and buyer waited a month to let me know they didn't recieve it. I thought perhaps a scam. I just did as told. As far as a top seller, if they don't protect ALL sellers why bother being a top seller? I am rated as an above average seller, isn't that good enough to be protected?

I asked that very question when I said would it be different if I had refunded right away? I was told that the feedback was not a threat, bad address or not as described, so it doesn't fall under protection. Yet.. the policy states " not at fault". Dealing with USPS is no easy feat either. So as a seller, I'm out the item, shipping costs, listing fee and transaction fee's, plus stuck with bad feedback for lost package and the fight ahead with the insured package.. Esty is looking better and better..
