Customer complaints

Hi!  Hiw long does the customer (buyer) have to complain or express their dissatisfaction with their item?  I just received a message of this nature today, from an item I mailed during the first week of May!  They said they had been on vacation and just got back but that was never communicated to me.  They did attach some photographs of their item which apparently was damaged in transit.  Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

They have 30 days for a complaint. But if they pay with Paypal, they have 180 days.  Other payment issuers allow also more time.
