Why does Ebay continue charging me sales tax on numismatic items. I reside in Texas there is no tax on numismatic items in Texas. I've been charged about $200 in sales tax. Don't know if should file a class action suit or just quit buying on Ebay until they have their **bleep** together.
Any lawyers on here ? I'm **bleep**.

First check that seller doesn't have the item incorrectly listed in a taxable category. Otherwise, contact your state department of revenue to have them contact ebay to correct the problem and also ask how you get a credit from the state.

As mentioned this happens when the seller list their items in the wrong category.
The items need to be listed in the Currency and coins category to not be taxed.

Ebay continues saying the reason they are charging sales tax is because the item is listed under antiques and collectibles. I check every listing it is ALWAYS listed as coins and paper money, so their excuse is a tired excuse. I've spent thousands on this app and am completely disgusted. They have told me they will refund me, but these people should be computer geniuses and be able to stop this bull **bleep**. I'm beyond **bleep**.

None of my purchases were incorrectly listed in the wrong category. As Ebay has stated why they continue charging me tax. Because of this I click on the item number to make ABSOLUTELY certain the item is listed as coins and money, untaxable in the state of Texas. No item I purchased was posted in the wrong category.
I seriously think a class action lawsuit is only way to get Ebay to correct this constant mistake.

I looked at one of your purchases and as mentioned it's was in the wrong category.
The items are listed in the Collectable and Art category which is taxable instead of Currency and coins which is not.

That is incorrect, I look at every item I bid on and every one is in the coins and money catagory.

That item is listed in a taxable category. That is not ebay's fault if the seller wants to list it this way.

This item is listed in the Collectible and Art category, i.e., taxable.
What you have been talking about are subcategories which don't affect the taxabilty.
