Constant changes in policy and outrageous fees

Recently sold an item that was fragile, Packed the heck out of it with bubble wrap and plastic. Wrote FRAGILE, PLEASE DO NOT CRUSH, all over the box, and it STILL was delivered crushed. working on opening a claim with the POST OFFICE and just found out today that the insurance is no longer up to $100, but now only $50. HAD EBAY let me know this, I could have added another $50 insurance for $3.60. If I dont get this resolved through eBay or USPS, I am going to be out either $74 or $125, whatever THEY decide. Has eBay been bought by someone else? Seems everyday, policy changes, or something is going on that I have NO CLUE about and I've been doing this for over 11 years. Was told by eBay that because I cancelled my basic subscription, I no longer qualify for Top seller, though I was for over 9 years, and that I dont qualify for the UP TO  $100 insurance included on priority packages.  So frustrating going round and round with these people...Seriously looking at other selling platforms, as not only is this an issue, but the selling fees are OUTRAGEOUS. It's one thing to charge a fee on the item, but on shipping and taxes as well....tired of hearing "Thank you for being a loyal member for 11 years" I guess so when I've made them money, yet when I have an issue, it's like pulling TEETH.
