I'm a little confused about e-bays recommendations selling prices. I have a new with tags women's heavy duster coat that retails at $60 dollars. They say the going price is 15.99 with free shipping. The sweater alone will cost about 11 dollars to ship. What about the cost of the item and fee's. Where are these quotes coming from in the first place is what I would like to know. It can't be that the same item sold for that price, how would they make money?
I would recommend to E-bay to but that effort into customer service or something else. I feel that we should know what to charge for our own items.
IMO, eBay's "recommended" prices are based on getting the item sold, not necessarily making the most money for the seller. eBay doesn't make much money on basic listing fees when items go unsold, but they make much more on selling fees (FVF).
Just as people may ignore recommendations in their daily lives, they are also free to ignore eBay's recommended prices.
You know you can ignore any pricing suggestions, right?
