City in Michigan not recognized. Why not?

I'm trying to add another shipping address. The ebay site will not recognize Sault Ste.Marie as a city in Michigan 49783

You probably need to write it out - usps can be finicky about abbreviations.  When I look up your po at usps, I get -

161 RIDGE ST

SAULT SAINTE MARIE, MI 49783-9998

Thank you for your reply. Tried a variety of address forms and finally settled on another solution. Tried paying first then the address. The computer seems a lot less fussy with the address after payment. We'll see if the item gets here.
