Change the total on an invoice

I sold some items and the shipping was more than expected. How do I change the total owed to me?

Change the total on an invoice

Hi @lihaw_4604

If the Buyer is waiting for an invoice you can change the shipping cost before sending the invoice.

If the items are already paid for then you have to eat the extra shipping cost and learn from your mistakes.

We see that on new Selling accounts as members learn how to weigh items, estimate packaged items for shipment, etc.

You are not allowed to charge the buyer more for shipping than show on the item listing (whether the buyer has already paid or not). You'll need to cover the difference if the cost is more.

(Do not attempt to package all those items in one box. It looks like it might take several along with extremely careful usage of packing materials to get the items to the buyer safely. If you ship in multiple cartons, you'll need to purchase a label for each carton based on its size and weight. If the items don't arrive intact, you'll be refunding the buyer.)

@lihaw_4604   Yes, I should have mentioned what @inceptions  did with regard to invoicing for shipping, you will not be able to charge more than what the Buyer paid ... what I see is $ 87 for shipping for the dish set but those have to be packaged extremely well to avoid breakage.  And I agree also that it may require more than one box.

Hi @mr_lincoln

The seller cannot charge more than what is shown on the listing. That's probably what you meant, but I wanted to be sure the OP understood that.

@inceptions  Yes but I did not make that clear so when I read your post I realized I should correct mine ...

You can't ask the buyer to pay anymore shipping then what was shown in the listings.

If you made a mistake on the shipping, you have to make up the difference when you ship.

Have a great day.
