Cannot void duplicate shipping label

I shipped one item, but got two shipping labels by mistake. One on FedEx and one on USPS. Item was actually shipped via USPS and shows online as "USPS IN POSSESSION OF ITEM".
Ebay online also shows another shipment, via FedEx, same order number.  It says the shipment was split. It was

only one item and could not have been split.  Ebay online with not let me void the FedEx shipping label.  How can I get a refund for the FedEx label?

With USPS, you have 5 days from date of printing to Void the label.  I do not know how soon you have to Void a Fed Ex label.  At one time, Fed Ex labels were not charged until it was scanned, but that was recently changed.

Unfortunately, no joy.  I have tried to void the FedEx label several, but only get a reply that it cannot be voided.  Somehow it decided that I had split the shipment when it found the second label with the same order number.  This is the problem with not being able to talk to a human at EBay (and I have tried every which way).  It the problem fits with the normal the machine can handle it.  If it is not the usual, forget it.  Makes me wonder if there would be any recourse if it were something really costly.
