I placed an order for something then within less than a minute attempted to cancel my order, because I realized the “what is included” was a bit misleading.
I got a message it was too soon to attempt to cancel an order. So I immediately messaged the seller telling them I wish to cancel the order.
Next thing I know a tracking # was generated and I get a message from the seller that I cannot cancel my order, because the tracking number was generated.
Plus they told me because of the type of account they have with EBay a buyer cannot cancel their order.
Is it true there are accounts where the buyer cannot cancel?
Why is there even a cancel option if in reality it isn’t an option?
Why is there a limit on how soon you can cancel an order? That just seems wrong.
The products arrived damaged on top of that and there is a no returns policy.

Hi @kpstx
-Sellers can cancel a transaction even AFTER they have purchased a shipping label.
-Sellers can get the label they purchased Cancelled within 28 days of purchasing it and receive credit on their account for the label cost
-eBay has no accounts that I am aware of that prevent a Seller from cancelling a transaction
-eBay does allow Buyers to send cancellation requests to Sellers shortly after they purchase but Sellers can decline those at their discretion. However, smart Sellers will cancel to avoid issues down the road, I know I would.
-As to the No returns policy, eBay actually has several return reasons that bypass that setting. Damaged items is one of them. eBay Money Back Guarantee policy
